contact.

-Apply 1/2 of the seed in a North and South pattern.
-Apply the remaining 1/2 in an East to West pattern.
WATERING
SPECIAL NOTE: LACK OF PROPER WATERING IS THE MOST COMMON REASON WHY
LAWNS FAIL TO ESTABLISH!!!
-Water initially so the soil is moist to a depth of about 1 inch. Keep root-zone moist.
-Water your new lawn 2-3 times daily (depending on rainfall)
-Soil must remain moist until the new turf has fully germinated (3-4 weeks)
-We recommend continued watering through the third mowing.
-Then water as necessary.
MOWING
-Mow your new lawn for the first time when it reaches 3 inches.
-To prevent seeding damage mow with a sharp blade.
-Mow regularly, trying to remove no more than 1/3 of leaf at any one time.
FERTILIZING
-Apply LawnScience Brand Lawn Food according to label directions in 30 days. The nutrients will
help the grass to become healthy and thick.
- DO NOT use any weed control or "weed and feed products until after the third mowing.
WHEN TO PLANT
-EarthCarpet Mixes and Blends are best established in late summer or early spring. This allows
the seed to take advantage of the longest periods of optimum growing conditions.
TEST SOIL
-TEST DON'T GUESS Obtains a soil test before planting. Soil testing identifies what soil needs
and what soil does not need
-A soil test will help determine if any amendments are needed and what fertilizer nutrients apply.
SELECT SEED
-Choose an EarthCarpet seed mixture or blend that matches the site conditions of the lawn.
FERTILIZE PROPERLY
-Regular feedings are important. Follow the LawnScience lawn care program for best results
WATER AS NEEDED
-Lawns will need supplemental water during dry periods
CONTROL PESTS
-Control pest like weeds, insects, and fungus if needed.
